What actually is letter photography, or alphabet photography?
Letter photography is taking photos of objects found within the UK and using them to make letters from. This is also known as alphabet photography, letter art, name frames and the like. None of the letters are staged and should be taken in exactly the way they are found.
Do you take all the alphabet pictures yourself?
Yes, ALL of the alphabet pictures are taken by myself, Angie during my travels around Great Britain. They are all in their natural state and none of them have been staged or enhanced in any way.
What Makes OnlyInTheWild Unique in relation to Letter Art and Alphabet Photography
In August 2015, Angie Hopgood was honoured to be elected a member of the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild. This means that whenever you purchase a handmade completed frame it is manufactured to the highest standards and latest materials that are kind to the environment.
What sizes are the letters in?
The standard ‘one word’ alphabet photography name frame are 6″x4″ – these are limited to 8 separate letters maximum re the size of the final frame.
When you wish to say more and have your letters to be displayed on more that 8 characters or on more than one line, then these will be 3″x2″ photos
What colours are the photo letters available in?
For the 6″x4″ letters, these are available in both sepia and greyscale (black & white)
For bespoke name frames, like the wedding gifts, place names, family & pet names, these are also available in sepia or greyscale, but I can also have these produced in blue or pink.
Are your frames handmade by you?
I originally had to have all name frames made for me. Since the spring of 2014, I attended a full picture framing teaching program where I learnt how to make frames myself. I have invested heavily in equipment to now produce frames whenever I can. A number of frames are still manufactured for me, but I ensure that these are to a high standard, as I will never compramise quality. In August 2015, I was honoured to be elected a member of the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild. You can find out more about the Fine Art Trade Guild here.
Do you make all your own ‘Letter Art Cards’?
The letter art cards have been produced entirely by me using the same collection of letter art photo letters that I have within my collection, that I have taken myself. To ensure that these are produced to the highest standards, I have sourced the production of the cards within England. These are NOT available in the shops on the high street, or elsewhere online.
